Fall Homecoming of 2014
By: Keely Ridlen
The clubs (FFA, FCA, NHS, Pep Club) each elect a boy and girl to run for King and Queen.
These are the candidates for Fall Homecoming of 2014. For FFA, Adrianne Blanchatt and Seth Robinson , for FCA, was Hattie Spicer and Roger Clark, NHS was Paris Stierwalt and Seth Williams, and last but not least is for Pep Club, Hannah Proffitt and Eric Hurt. They are all running for King and Queen. Wonder who will claim those crowns for this homecoming? Homecoming takes place at Chaparral High School on September 26, 2014 at 6:30 pm. The game starts at 7:00 pm. The score of Chaparral vs. Medicine Lodge was 58-8. Hattie Spicer and Roger Clark got King and Queen of Fall Homecoming ‘14. During Homecoming week we have spirit week to show good sportsmanship.
The reason that Homecoming happens is to raise the schools spirit. It also shows the school that are respected people in the school.
To be a Candidate for Homecoming there are some requirements that you have to apply to. You have to be a Senior, can’t be on the ineligibility list, and have to be voted in or selected by their respective clubs.
Our theme for Homecoming of 2014 is the Wizard of Oz, STUCO picked the theme out. For Spirit week we had all these fun days to dress up to and be crazy.
Monday- No school (Teacher In-service)
Tuesday- Green and Bling
Wednesday-Which Witch is Which Day? (Twin day)
Thursday- Twister Thursday (Wacky Day)
Friday- No Place Like Homecoming (Super Fan--Blue/Gold Day)
Homecoming is a big deal to most schools and most of them have activities to go with them. Every year we have a parade in either Anthony or harper. This year the Homecoming Parade begins at 1:30 p.m in Anthony. We also had a Color throw of blue and gold at 6:50 by the football field.
