The Chaparral football team had a great year this year, but they had their  up and downs, however, the spirit of the Roadrunners remained the same, unstoppable. At the beginning, they were doing amazing, they won every game, until we lost to Wichita trinity. But did that change the school spirit? No! Their recordgoing into playoffs was 9-1, which was the fourth best record in the league. They played bluestem Tuesday, the Chaparral Roadrunners won, then they plays halstead, which the Chaparral Roadrunners lost, 36-27.

The football team has had success over the years, because chaparral is the best! the football team here began in the 1971 the first trophy for football was won in 1978. This is the first year Chaparral won a playoff game since 1989. They have a bunch of great seniors, who worked hard in the off season, to lead the team. Also in 1978, the have won sub state. Our most recent trophy was bi-district runner up, which was won in 2012.

Over the years since 1971, Chaparral had its ups and downs, but no matter what, the soul of the school hasn't changed a bit. Sure, the Fans of Chaparral were sad, but the spirit of them hasn't changed just an ounce. This year, I am most certain the fans were proud of the Roadrunners for their great success.
